Rachael usually goes swing dancing with a group of friends on Monday, but was babysitting today. When she got home, she heard from one of the guys. A friend of theirs, a young hs'ed girl, backed over a 2yo and killed the child. It was dark, she simply didn't see the child. Please pray for both the family of the child, and also for Bri, the young lady driving. She JUST got her license about a week ago! I get the impression that the child was someone they all knew, though the name isn't one either Rachael or I was familiar with. I can't imagine what either family is going through right now!
One of my biggest nightmares has always been running over a child. Praying for all in this heartbreaking accident. Beth
Turns out it wasn't after dark. Bri was dropping someone off at a dance class, in a neighborhood. The children were outside running around and playing. The child's mom was inside at the time. As of this morning, no charges had been filed; hopefully it will be ruled an accident and none will be.
Me Too! We purchased a suburban just before Christmas, and I am petrified when I back it up. I want to have a video camera installed in it. I'm just heart broken for these families. Praying for them!

I'm sure both families appreciate it. Rachael heard today through a mutual friend that the young lady is having a very difficult time dealing with it. The news hasn't mentioned her name, just saying a "17yo girl".
