Hello to all my fellow homeschooling teachers out there. I'm Leslie in San Antonio, TX and I'm a homeschooling mom of two daughters. While I might not have a lot of experience in homeschooling, I am one of those former (government) school teachers which gives me an expanded perspective on the topic of education. I share my ideas with others in a talk show on homeschooling and a blog and I'm always eager to hear other experiences - both good and challenging. Raising kids is not always easy and seems like there are more hoops to jump through. Another reason I'm glad we can homeschool here in the USA. Everyone have a great day and see you on the forum! Leslie
Hi, Leslie! I'm in San Antonio, too, but I just moved here a month ago from West Tennessee. I have 4 children (ds11, dd's 9,6, & 3), and this is our 4th year homeschooling. Welcome to the Spot!
Welcome! I look forward to swapping info with you. I live in Missouri, but happen to be in love with San Antonio. I'd move there if I thought I could handle the heat. Being born and raised in PA has deprived me of that particular ability...lol. This is my first year HSing. My oldest son is K5. The other two boys are 3 and 20 months.
Welcome aboard! I'm in Austin, and we will be moving towards San Antonio within a year. (Somewhere between New Braunfels and northern San Antonio.... LOL) My boys are 8, 4, and 3, and we've been homeschooling for about a year and a half. DH works nights (as a baker) and we keep a late schedule around here. My grandma was a public school teacher for over 40 years, and currently substitutes full time. I always wanted to be a teacher, always assuming it would be in the public school sector, and so homeschooling was a bit "different" in my brain as well... so to speak. I've found my grandma, who is very supportive of our decision, to be a great resource and person off of whom to bounce ideas. Anyway. Nice to have you! Can't wait to get to know you!
Welcome! My "little" brother lives in San Antonio! I am Jackie, also a former "government school" teacher. My DH is still working for one. Welcome!!!
Hey there! I'm Tiffany and this is my second year homeschooling my two girls. We live slightly norht of Houston. Welcome!

I am from San Antonio too, or actually outside of San Antonio towards Castroville on a little pecan farm. I think I might know you from our homeschool group Haven or maybe raw milk group? Wonderful! Wow - a lot of us in Texas and Yes Sam, you know me from both HAVEN and the raw milk co-op! What a small world Thank you to all the welcomes. We homeschooling families need to stay in touch and share - nothing is more empowering than knowledge. Leslie in San Antonio Homeschool Mom & Talk Show Host
Yep, there's a lot of us in TX. There has been talk about a TX get-together, but I think it's just the wrong time of year. Maybe in Feb or March we'll all get together somewhere... probably Austin or Waco. LOL Have seen you around! Need to go find more info something about a talk show... it's late. LOL
I welcomed you on another thread, but I'll welcome you again here. I'm Jeanna, I hs my ds10. My dh was born in El Paso. Glad to have you here!
Sending another welcome. I'm another former ps teacher myself. You'll find a lot of us here on this board.
How many other people are here in San Antonio? I'm trying to get a group together, like what I've seen in other cities here in Texas.
Welcome! I'm a former ps teacher too. We've been hsing since 2004. Although I'm in NC now, we lived near Ft. Worth for about 3 years. Visited SA once and had a blast!
