Hi, I have a friend who is looking for a dvd/cd or mixed textbook/workbook-dvd/cd sort of Christian curriculum for her daughter who is going into 4th grade, this will be her first yr homeschooling. I personally havent used any cd/dvd curriculum but thought I saw around here a while back something like that, can anyone help us out please? Thank you so much:angel:
There is BJU, they have a hard drive curriculum and maybe a DVD one still. A Beka also has a DVD option. I don't personally like the idea of using just one publisher or being stuck to the routine they set up. I guess you could tweak it if you don't go through there "school", if you just get the materials. Please let your friend know that she doesn't have to do all the activities, tests, etc.
There is also Switched-on-Schoolhouse by Alpha Omega Publications. We have used a couple of the courses, but it didn't work well for my son with eye tics. It was very nice to have everything scheduled for you and the grades are automatically kept and processed for you. We also liked how the science has videos of the labs to watch built right into the lesson. I have known others who used the math for SOS and didn't like how it worked since you had to work it on paper and then enter in each box on the screen (think carrying numbers while adding and such). It would be great if you could find someone else's to look at first.
