I am a homeschool mom of 2. This is my first year. I have never done a forum before, but I need so much help with this homeschooling thing that it is not even funny . I don't even know how to use this forum! Help! I look forward to getting to know you and learning from you!
Welcome! Love your name...should it read "Da Bomb Mom"? Wish I had thought of that. One very user friendly feature of the forums is the "New Posts" button just under Log Out in the upper right of the screen. This helped me so much to not have to click through all the separate forums to get to new posts. Hope this helps!
One of the things that helped me a lot when I first started was a link to "Rae's List". When you are in the list of postings you can go to the bottom of the page and it will give you a search bar. Go to the menu and choose what you are looking for. I just use the one that it comes with. That one will pull up a page that gives you search options. The first box will allow you to type in key words. So if you want to see posts on a specific topic, curriculum, or something you remember reading, type in the key words you remember and sort through the results. For now type in "Rae's List", then go to the one that looks to be the best result. It is a list of internet sites that assist with homeschooling. Course work, work sheets, testing. Most are free. Some may be out of date, but worth a look.
Thank you so much all of you! It is nice to know that I won't be alone. And thank you for the helpful tips about the forum!
Welcome! I always enjoy "meeting" someone who is new to home schooling. For me it's kind of like observing newlyweds who have that first excitement of a new journey together! I love it. Your humility and desire to learn will keep you in good stead as you continue to home school, and I think you will find the members here more than willing to help.
