I have decided to use Five in a Row but am wondering if I should go with BeforeFIAR. How do I know? It's for my 5yr. and 3yr. can join in if he wants.;)

Also, if I go with FIAR should I just buy one vol. at a time along with the books or buy more volumes used and get what books at can at the library?

I just don't know enought about it to know what to do. Please help. Thanks!

I would go with the first volume of FIAR. I believe that a volume should take you half the year - so you could get volume 1 and volume 2. I borrowed my friends BFIAR for my youngest and as much as I loved the books, but, it just seemed too young for her (she was 3 going on 4 at the time and I had planned to do BFIAR for preschool).

I would look at the list and see what you can get from your library, and whatever you can't, buy. :)

www.homeschoolshare.com has a full list of the books for each volume so you could look before you buy the volume. :)

If it were me, I would buy all the volumes used and get what books I could from the library. The main reason is because money is an issue and I would not buy books, just check them out at the library. Also, my son would not have liked all of the books.

This is what I did. I found vol. 1-3 and the Christian Supp. for $20.00 a piece.

    Thanks for the help!
