My oldest son, Bo, has had this monkey named Oo-Ah for 3 years. He is completely falling apart. Tonight his eye came out, and he's devastated. DH told him that he had a couple ideas on how to fix him, and Bo said, "Well, we could use tape." He's upstairs sniffling and tearing up, the poor little guy. All I have is a video on Facebook that shows him clearly, unfortunatly. I have looked everywhere for him. We got him at Target about 3 years ago. I will post a link, but I don't know if you can view or not.

Is the tag still on the bottom of it with the name of the manufacturer on it? I wonder if you can contact them and ask where you might find another one??

It's so washed out, we didn't think he would be so attatched to it this long. I do know it's from "Circo", and I've tried to find their website or a number to call but I never could.

What about giving him an eye patch?

Our teddy bear hospital (a local charity event) will creatively "bandage up" beloved stuffies that simply can't be repaired. I brought in a little bear I've had from the time I was a baby, and they couldn't do anything to help because his fabric was literally disintegrating. But they did put the arm that was almost off in a sling. Which actually has kept it from falling ALL the way off, and looks cute besides.

At the teddy bear hospital event they do a whole routine where the doctor will check the bears over very seriously and then they'll either be handed to nurse for bandaging or go into the operating room for sewing.

    Eye patches are cool... :)

I make teddy bears by hand. If you have the eye that came out is it one of the kind with a post on the back? You can order those online or if you know the size in mm I can send one :) Just sew in a small patch of fabric and then attach the eye. The post kind just need a small hole and then the backer pushed on tight. If there are any other rips you can mend them. I suggest a 'toy hospital trip for the animal' Replacing with a new one usually back fires because it isn't their original one with all the smells, love, and good times attached. A new one is just an interloper trying to replace their beloved friend.

Was Oh-Ah the name of the Monkey? Or did your child name him? Can you take a picture of the injured toy? I tried to look at the link in your beginning post but it just led me to you facebook page and I didn't find anything related to what you posted.

I have been known to work wonders and would be willing to try with your stuffie.

NorthernMomma, it does have a post. The eye broke completely off from the post. We tried fabric glue and it seems to be holding for now, but I'm sure it's not going to last very much longer.

My husband suggested an eye patch too. He says, "An eye patch and a bandana and he's Pirate Ooh-Ah instead of just plain old Oo-Ah." lol. I have never heard of a teddy bear hospital! That is erally cool!!!!

ForTheSon- That monkey is VERY CLOSE. He has gingham ears and paws as well as a gingham bow around his neck. We bought him from target for like $10, not really thinking Bo we be this attatched. He didn't sleep well last night w/o him, but he sure was excited to see him this morning! lol

I think the eye patch is the best idea, unless you can find someone who can fix him. I have a teddy bear given to Mom when I was born, and the eye came out a few years ago. My friend is a dollmaker, and she was able to fix it for me.

Oh goodness, I so know how you feel. My youngest has had the same blankie since birth (he's now 4). He has been attached to it since day 1! I don't know what it is about that blankie over others, but we will never be able to replace it since it use to be my brother's baby blanket 27 years ago! The thing is falling apart at the seams...literally, but he doesn't care and still loves it.

Good luck on your search. I don't know if he would be ok with a different monkey, but Webkinz makes a really cute monkey. Mine has it, named it Bananas, and loves to sleep with him and his stuffed dragon, Bubbles.
