We are anxiously anticipating the graduation of our daughter and our first home school graduate. Our oldest son graduated two years ago (before we really began home schooling the two younger children) from a public school but we are now looking for some creative things to make her graduation a little more memorable. She will be the only graduate and we plan to have the ceremony at our church (DH and I serve as lead pastor and worship pastor, respectively), so the venue is not an issue.

We have asked several people who have played major roles in her life to speak, one will sing and we will have a video montage play during the song. We also plan to have some songs played prior to the beginning of the ceremony and have some pics of her through the years looped to play through this, as well.

We will host a reception immediately following the ceremony in our dining hall at the church which will give her a little more time to greet her guests.

Any other ideas that some of you have either seen or actually had a part of your child(ren)'s graduation ceremonies? We would really like for this to be something that's memorable for her for many years to come.

Thanks in advance for your ideas and input.

Set up a section in the room that displays some of her school work. When my friends son graduated, she covered the walls with his school work that was completed over the years. She started homeschooling him right from the start, so there was a lot of really neat and cute things hanging around the room.

That's a neat idea! I'll have to see what I can find and do something like that. I also plan to have framed pics of her in the church's foyer where we'll have a guest book and they can also leave a "word of wisdom" and I plan to have pics on the tables in the dining hall as centerpieces along with candles, too.
