Hi! There is a new to the site homeschool mom who will be homeschooler her 16 yr old she is really a newbie! She was talking about a card she has to get from the gov to be able to home school in her state? I have never heard of this but is there anyone out there in NC that has? She was interested in what 11th grade work is required as well... I am trying to help her out because she msged me with more questions than I knew the answers too. I am hoping she will see this post and join in. I know we all can be a bit intimidating at times with our 'knowledge' and 'experience' lol but we are just learning with the rest of ya all!
Homeschool in NC yes she does need a card - easy to get http://www.ncdnpe.org/hhh103.aspx This is a link to the DNPE which has all of the requirements for homeschooling in NC Also note there are REQUIREMENTS and RECOMENDATIONS you do not have to do the recomendations - there are tons of homeschoolers in NC and I would highly recommend she find a group near her Basically yearly testing and an attendance chart is all that is required. (the card is a one time thing that is good till your kids graduate) hope this helps Sandy
