...a Janome Magnolia 7330 Sewing Machine!!! Woo-hoo!!! There's an organization I found out about on a quilting site called "Project Linus", that makes security blankets for children going through difficult times. They had a special Project Day, and I thought it'd be a good service project for the myself and the girls. We got there, and everyone had their name put into a drawing, with the sewing machine as the Grand Prize. Oh, was I THRILLED!!! It comes with free lessons! You may or may not know my machine (which I got in high school MANY years ago!) gave up the ghost two years back. I was told that the busted part couldn't be replaced, because they no longer made it. Then a friend gave me a machine that was even older, but in excellent condition. It did everything I needed it to (ie: quilting!). But I've been wanting a new one, it just isn't in our budget. So now I have one!!! It is SO cool!!!
I'm so jealous..lol I have big dreams of a Janome someday... you know when the kids are raised and I can afford something better than a Walmart special..lol Congrats!
Congrats! I dont know what a janome is, but I assume its the kind of machine you wanted, so good for you!!
I googled it and it looks like an awesome machine! I have and old White brand that died about 1 1/2 yrs ago and I haven't been able to replace it. My mom suggested asking on Freecycle - I'm picking one up from someone tomorrow!
OH MY WORD! What a blessing! I'm an avid quilter, (and novice tutu maker) so I can appreciate this blessing. What fun you and you're girls are going to have!
I'm sure you will make some beautiful quilts on it. Congrats. I won a prize too this week, I am in a BBQ swap on the TOH and won one of the prizes the lady drew that hosted the swap out of the people who shipped on time and sent her a confirmation #, I saw that one of the ladies didn't really get a very good package I asked the hostess to send her my prize instead........... nothing as exciting as a brand new sewing machine though.
Jackie, that is God's blessing to you for being the Godly mother and wife that you are I know that you will put it to good use, are the girls interested in sewing, too?
I doubt Rachael will ever be much of a sewer. She's too active, lol, though maybe when she's older. Faythe is working on a Rag Quilt right now out of flannel. It's very easy to do. But I really need to tell her that she needs to sit down NOW and do x-number of squares.... But I told her I would give her home ec credit for it!
Congrats Jackie, that is so wonderful ! My oldest dd is better at sewing than I am, she opened up my machine and made double sided placements the 1st time she used it. I'm just learning how to use it but if I need help I ask my dd.
