On her way home from work, Gleny Cateriano spotted a woman in distress (possibly contemplating suicide), and she did all the right things. She's a role model to all of us, and I'll be sharing her story with the kids tonight.

It's nice to be reminded that there's good in the world.

Thanks for sharing. I will share that with my kids today too. What a wonderful lady to step in so calmly and help that poor woman in crisis.

I wonder how I would have reacted in that situation? Would I have done the same? Or just pedaled on by?

I've wondered the same thing. My best friend and my husband both insist I would have stopped and helped, but I'm not sure I wouldn't have just glanced over and thought, "Ew, really? Skinny dipping in the canal? Yuck."

I'm not sure it would have occurred to me she couldn't swim, and it certainly wouldn't have crossed my mind that she might be suicidal!

I can be a little slow on the uptake at at times...

On the other hand, my friends keep pointing out the various times I've reacted appropriately in a crisis, so who knows. Anyway, the good news is now I know *exactly* what to do if I ever come across a woman throwing her clothes in a canal!

That's exactly me. Hubby would be a bit more intuitive and maybe see what she was doing, but I doubt I would even catch it. I don't know, but I doubt it.
