Hilarious! I'm sure it was photo-shopped, but what a riot! As a catholic, I can say we do not believe animals go to heaven. The catechism teaches that only humans are given souls and that is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. I'm sharing this on facebook!!!
That's interesting, because I have many Catholic friends and their churches who believe the opposite. Amie, have you tried looking this up on Snoopes or anything? I'd love to know if it's photoshopped or not. Even if it is, imagining how it would have all took place is just as funny! HA It's always nice to know that even when people disagree, they can have a sense of humor about it. :angel:

That is why animals do not receive the sacraments, are not believed to be sinful (when cats kill mice for pleasure, it's not murder), or live under the same laws as humans do. Even still, it would be nice if our pets that die before us would be there to greet us in heaven, tails wagging!
I completely respect your point of view, but I also respectfully disagree. I only found it interesting that you, as a Catholic, believed differently on this issue than some of my Catholic friends (I'm not Catholic, by the way...Protestant actually). That's all I'll say though, as I'm sure Amie didn't want to turn this into a debate thread. :love:

So, according to these verses, there is some evidence that in the new heaven/earth there will be animals: wolves, leopards, lions, sheep, goats, calves and fatlings and bullocks and oxen (cattle), bears, asps, and serpents (cockatrice) - but none of them will be harmful. Also horses. If all these are there, then surely the faithful family pet could be there too? and I'm guessing more varieties of animals as well.
