We are going to be doing the NOtgrass American History this yr. I am looking for the LIt. books to go with it. I don't know of very many sites but Amazon that sell used books. Can you ladies give me suggestions to look into, sites that are good and so on. I don't mind buying new, but if I can save and get good used that would be the best!

    Thanks,
    Shelby

you could try www.paperbackswap.com. Usually you have to list your books and earn credits to "buy" books. BUT...you can buy credits for a certain amount (and the more y ou buy the cheaper they are).

I've gotten a lot of our stuff from this site. :)

    ebay

    rainbow resources

    vegsource

associated Yahoo group (there seems to be one out there for everything)

    half price books online

    Feast online discount bookstore http://store.homeschoolfeast.com

Also, I surf using Swagbucks, which earns you points as you surf and take surveys and such. Those points add up and you can get paypal money or amazon gift cards, which I've used to get books for free or very big discounts.

if you don't want to buy have you try out the libraries. We used them alot and they will let you have the books longer then 2 weeks if you tell them you homeschool.

Also what about half price books they have tons of books too. Tell them you are teacher for homeschool and get a discount too.

Right now Target has a lot of classic books for $1 in their dollar bins up front.
As a side note they also have Teacher Record books, workbooks ( up to 5th grade) , flash cards and other school items for $1.

And try thirift stores also..tons of Lit. books there for cheap.

I got most of mine at Half-Price Books. The only one I couldn't find AT ALL was the Mark Twain book. (And no, I DON'T want to sell them, because I've another child that needs to use them, lol!)

Do you have a used bookstore in your area? I know of two or three within driving distance of our house. You sometimes have to search but I have gotten great deals doing that.
