My son is 3 and a half and my goal is to be able to work from home by the time he gets old enough to start school. I've looked and looked at different opportunities. I've tried some out, like working on oDesk to try and make money on writing, as well as other writing jobs, didnt work out. I have looked into running a daycare but i live in an apartment and that wouldn't work because you have to have a fenced in backyard. I looked into a few different things. Right now, i'm looking at some mlm companies and want to know your opinion on them or any other bits of information you may have. I have tried barefoot books and in the past, avon, but with avon, there are WAY TOO MANY Avon ladies and you can't seem to get any business because they are everywhere! Today I've looked at Tastefully Simple, Amway, and checked out pampered chef and tupperware. The first two stand out the most to me. So if you know anything about these companies, PLEASE SHARE! Also, if you have any other suggestions or advice, please feel free to share! Thanks a ton!

There aren't any other Barefoot reps in your area, so the market is wide open, and with the Christmas rush just around the corner, I think this is the perfect time to jump in.
I have sold Stampin' Up in the past and truly love it. My cousin is very 'high up' in the business, so if you are interested, I could get you started under a fabulous gal. Also, don't know anyhting about the profit/money-making potential, but Thirty-One is BOOMING in my area!
I'll try and sell it online to make money so i can get a stock. I don't have money to buy books and my library doesn't have the books. So i'll try and sell it on facebook.
Look into these too they are both great. Everyday Styles and Arbonne. If you like makeup/beauty I recommend Arbonne as it is 100% vegan and an awesome product. If you like housewares Everyday Style is better then tupperware and pampered chef because they offer more at lower prices.
Wow Everyday Style looks like just what im looking for. I like the idea of parties that have gourmet food too. HOWEVER, Everyday Style is only based in Canada. I'm from the US so i cant sign up.
I just started with a new company called SimplyFun. Our mission is to partner with parents to create stronger families and smarter kids through play. We are new, so the market is not over saturated with consultants. I have enjoyed sharing this new product with families. Recently we were allowed to have a booth at the FPEA convention. This IMO was an honor because they do not allow MLM companies to have booths at the convention. After seeing a few of our games they saved us a spot! Check out the company and see what you think. I was going to mention Usborne books. That's the one I'm leaning toward. There aren't a ton of reps everywhere and you can do school & library shows. I'm planning to get my kids started with school for the year, making sure our schedules work and then I'm going to sign up. Usborne anyone???
I seem to be coming into this late, but really be careful with MLM. Some are great, I did a home party business way back in the day that was similar to Home Interiors, which seems to be defunct now.. and the one I did is also defunct called Your Finishing Touch. I loved it and made good money, but it wasn't so much work from home, I had to have shows and in order to make the good money I had to do 2 shows a week. Book shows were fine, but I did best with live shows. They were fun to do, I had a good time selling it, but it was before kids, I couldn't imagine the hours I put into it now trying to juggle 4 kids. The catch is always going to be, if it sounds too good to be true (just buy our products for yourself and you will become rich... not saying a company, but it's one I have personal experience with and has been mentioned in this thread), then it most likely is too good to be true. If the company's main goal for you is to recruit recruit recruit then I would run the other way.... that isn't building a business, it's building a pyrmid scheme.
I AGREE!!!! You won't get rich with any of the popular direct sales companies out there. In fact, only about 4% of any of those companies makes enough money to call it a steady part-time income (including Barefoot). Any company that tells you it's free to join and you'll make tons of money is lying to you. Even if it's free to join (like Barefoot), it's still not free. You have to get licensed by your state, you have to buy things like sales aids (business cards, flyers, inventory, whatever), fees to participate in vendor events and/or incentives given to fundraising or party hosts, and you have to take a TON of time away from your family during the first year or two just to research your options. Nothing in life is free, but if you're the right kind of person in the right kind of market, you can make any sales business work for you.
I would say if you can sew you sew boutique clothes one outfit can easily go for $75 on etssy thats what my neighbor is doing
I can't sew but i've been learning. My dream is to someday be able to make wedding dresses, renaissance dresses, and Modest clothing in the future for some extra money on the side! It would be so awesome! I could sell Barefoot books and make my own clothes in my free time.
