Welcome! How long have you homeschooled? We've been homeschooling for 3yrs now and really find it rewarding. I have a 9yo and 5yo!

My son, Cameron, went to a public K and it was a fully horrible experience for everyone. I had toyed with the idea of HS before be started but my MIL (a teacher) really pushed what a bad thing that would be. She was convinced that the peer pressure of school would help C come out of his shell and leave his quirks behind. Well of course it did the opposite.

So after changing teachers we did finish out the school year but decided not to send him back for 1st grade and have been homeschooling ever since. He will start 5th grade work this year and my daughter, Teagan, will start first.

Well... thats kinda a tricky issue. We have had a family falling out because (really it was just the last straw of years of issues) FIL physically assaulted my son. They were a big reason we left FL, to get some space and a healthier environment for our children.

After his first few yearly evaluations she did have to admit he was doing well. I doubt we will ever fully see eye-to-eye on this or most issues.

Welcome! My kids wanted to tell you they love your name! Was your mom a Scooby-Doo fan? My mom liked the Archies - hence my name, Sabrina.
We have been homeschooling since the beginning. We have 4 dc - ds13, dd11, ds8, dd6.
    Nice to see you here!

My real name is Michelle but since that is usually so common I went with a made up name. lol My kids are huge Scooby fans though and of course I grew up with Mystery Inc so I love them too. :)

this has nothing to do with homeschool but when I worked in a retirement home I worked in the kitchen and the little old lady that made all the pies and cakes and sweet stuff, was named Velma..... I so wish I had some of her recipes, she used to make this one cookie I loved, but her secret ingredient was cottage cheese something I would not eat alone.
