 Well, the researching, ordering, organizing, mind-changing and reordering, and lesson planning has been fun (if at times stressful!) But that is all finished now, and it is time to get busy! Our first official day of homeschool starts tomorrow! I am so excited and so scared at the same time. I also feel this deep sadness that I didn't hs my dd (9th) from the beginning....and a huge happiness that I have so much time left with my son (3rd)! Gosh, I am so emotional today! I want to say how thankful I am to have found this sight and you all for support, encouragement, and wisdom!
Good luck We start back tomorrow as well. That is,if I can get everything I need to do,finished today.
We start tomorrow as well! Good luck and have a blessed school year for everyone starting tomorrow and the others as well. We are all in this together.
Well, we made it through!!! It went great....worked from about 9am-1pm with about a 20 minute break for lunch! Our math is of course very review and simple right now, so I know it will go longer when we get into the nitty-gritty!
First day done only 179 more to go! It was ok. I could have been better but one of my boys started giving me a hard time 20 minutes into the day!!!! I implemented help cards for him. He did NOT like that at all. He has always been I need someone else to do it for me kinda kid. But this year I'm putting my foot down. He only gets four helps from me a day. He ended using only one. He refused to give in and use up the rest which was really nice. He worked independantly and did really well. We completed our day on schedule and all in all it went pretty smoothly for our first day.
help cards--what a good idea! I did a marble jar last year. Yes, even though my dd is in Jr High! We had a popcorn movie day when it got full. But it was very subjective. I put in as many marbles as I felt like with no real yardstick. I love the help cards though. I'll have to tuck that one away.
