Considering all Andrew has been through this past year, he has been doing really well until tonight but I'm not sure if it's the head injury or something else. We were out for the evening and when we came home, Andrew was complaining about having a headache/photosensitivy. My gut instinct suggested a probable migraine and he went to bed (refusing to be medicated for it). He was up a short time later vomiting. I still wasn't too alarmed because I've had them nasty enough to cause the same reaction. I was rubbing his back and noticed the lump from where he had the head injury in January is still there but still 'scabbing' over (6 months later I would think that should be done by now). He told his father is was bleeding a little bit yesterday. He went back to bed but I did manage to give him something for the pain this time... he didn't keep it down. The last time he was up, I tried to wash his face off with a cool cloth and he said his knees felt like they were going to give out on him RED LIGHT !! I checked his neuro-vitals and they appear to be normal but I'm just not at ease with this just being a migraine right now. Prior to his head injury Andrew never ever complained about a headache and so I wonder if it's still related to his injury. In any case, we covet your prayers. If he continues like this, we'll head to the ER tonight to have him assessed. Thank you !
You got it, Brenda! Lord, You know whether this is "just" a migraine, or something more complicated. It's all in Your hands. You are the Great Physician. We're asking for Andrew to be restored to good health. Help his parents to know exactly what to do for him, whether it's medication or a trip to the ER, or just rest. If he needs to see a physician, Lord, guide the doctor's hands and knowledge, give him/her wisdom, and give him just the right thing that is best for Andrew. Thank you, Lord, for all You have done, and all You are doing, and all You are going to do in the life of Andrew and his family. In Jesus' Name we pray and ask it. Amen.
I'll add my Amen to Lindina's prayer. I know Andrew has been through so much, praying this is over soon.
Praying here- and I'd take him to the ER anyway, just to be on the safe side. (He should have documentation for the head injury anyway for your other issues, right?) Keep us posted. MT3
Just when I think I can settle into bed, Andrew gets back up... again !! I gave him some crackers earlier hoping he would have something in his stomach but that didn't last. I just gave him some gravol and I'm prayerfully hoping that he can keep it down for at least 30 minutes... just long enough for it to absorb and start working. Thank you for praying
I agree with this prayer! AMEN! also will be praying that everything heals up well! When dd was small she had a cable box fall on her head, it lumped up for more than a month, I freaked out all the time over it but the advice nurse said she was fine just sometimes lumps take longer.. finally after more thn a month I got so upset I put my hand on her head and prayed for God to heal anything that was wrong and to make the lump go away so I would know it was so.. the lump went down under my hand and I was barely touching it.. that may sound weird but I am trusting that God knows whats going on in Andrews head and praying for that clear of healing! In Jesus name@!
Well then !! Hopefully when we get moved we'll find a doctor who is in his office more than he's out !! Andrew finally settled around 1:30 am after I had given him the gravol. I tried to call our doctor this morning to have Andrew seen but he's out until next week sometime  Thank you for praying He was up before 8 this morning and was feeling pretty good but is complaining about another headache (which he took Motrin for today... lesson he learned the hard way).
Andrew (being a typical know all teenager) decided a couple nights in a row that it was cool to stay up all night and play video games. I think the migraine was a matter of exhaustion and his body telling him I've had enough. He took the Motrin this morning and has been pain free since PRAISE GOD !! My state of panic last night was when he was losing control of his muscles and couldn't stand (though I have heard of serious migraines that have caused the same). If this is something we need to contend with long term, I need to get something for him for when he does have them as opposed to trips to the ER like I've done so many times
Two weeks later and I have yet to get him into our doctor (because he's out more than he's in) !! So I took him to emerg last night after he had an explosive mood outburst (cups of coffee went flying, he shattered a halogen light bulb out on the street beside the house, etc). The fracture site is still draining (which is why I didn't wait until the work week begins again). It was a wasted trip because the doctor did nothing for him... other than tell Andrew he needs to take his ADHD meds (trying to blame this outburst on the pre-existing condition and not the head injury). The poor boy sat on the back lawn with me last night and cried like a baby because he "feels different" and can't explain it... he doesn't like what he has become in recent weeks. PLEASE pray that we can get into our family doctor this week and that they'll take this serious. Six months later that wound site should NOT still be oozing !!
Oh my gosh! the poor guy! I certainly hope you get in to your doctor soon - what a terrible place to be in.
I will be praying for him. We are going through something similar so I know how frustrating navigating the medical system can be. "Worry for nothing, but through all prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving make your requests known to God, and the God of all peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
