Some of you know that my family is going "TV Free" next month, except for Friday Family Movies. Well, my "wonderful" DH has decided to take it a step further. He feels we also need to be Computer Free (!!!). After discussion, I convinced him that this may not be a good idea for me. I'd REALLY MISS y'all, and there's so much I do through e-mail. For example, I'm planning on signing Rachael up for a class, and registration hasn't happened yet, and I will be notified of it by e-mail. And it's how I keep track of when library books are due. And there's all kinds of examples like that. So we have come to a compromise. We will be computer-free for everything BUT e-mail, and I will only be doing that once a day, after the kids are in bed. So you won't lose me totally, but I will be cutting back! I THINK I can survive this, LOL!
I went computer free last fall for several weeks... in hind sight it was a blessing in disguise but it didn't feel that way at the time. Hang in there, you'll be ok and we'll still be thinking of you and praying for you (Hey! Do you want me to send Deena's updates to you by email so you can read them when she gets back?)
wow, good luck Jackie, I'm not sure I could do it, since I can't drive, I would be stuck staring at the ceiling all day, and even though my husband would think the house would get cleaner, I'm not so sure.
I didn't realize you didn't drive. Is it from health reasons or just never decided to learn? Also how is Deena doing on her trip? Lorna
We have been phone/tv/comp free (until yesterday) for 3 months. It has been awful. lol We only have 1 car and it goes with the Husband so I felt very cut off from the world. We went tv free for 14 months a while back and because I still had my comp and my phone it was much easier.
When you go tv/comp free do you remove them from the house? With my family I'd have to hide them so they couldn't turn them on. I don't think the tv would be that big of a deal, but the computer would be hard.
