I have been MIA lately because we have had big changes going on around here. I lived in Ohio up until 6 years ago, when we moved to Virginia, we are now moving back. I am very excited, but nervous and kept very busy. I will be moving my eldery parents along with us, they also moved here when we did. We are all looking forward to moving back home. I did not homeschool while in Ohio, does anyone live in Ohio and know their laws?

I know we have people on here who live in Ohio. In fact we have an Ohio Mom and an OhioMom. They should be able to help you. Have a safe move.

    Looking for OH help too!!!

I too just moved to Ohio. I have been working on getting all my stuff together for the district and hoping to find someone who knows the laws because from what I am reading it sounds a lot like FL. Just have to submit more info regarding curriculum.

Jackie will be the best one here to talk with.

Here is what Jackie wrote in another post.

Marty, are you doing the portfolio eval? Don't worry about the forms they send in the packet; mine goes straight into paper shredder! Go here: http://www.cheohome.org/images/stori...cationform.pdf and that will show you the form on the CHEO website. It complies with Ohio law. Send that in, along with a list of what you are teaching, a list of your curriculum, and a signed original of the evaluation. Send it registered mail, so you know they got it. And be sure to keep a copy of everything for your files. (I didn't my first year, and I had to do some hustling at the end, because they said they were missin the evaluation!!!)

Often the districts ask for more than they are permitted by law. This forms has only what is REQUIRED. The district CANNOT make you fill out THEIR form.
