Today is the first day of school for us. Every year I pick a theme and try to find something special to do for the kiddos. Last year I had a bee theme and I made beehive cupcakes. This year it is monkeys. So here are the monkey cupcakes I threw together this morning. I found the idea on the internet and they are really easy(that's why I chose to do these!).
I still have to make a chicka chicka boom boom tshirt. I made the iron on transfer from a graphic I got off the internet. I just haven't had time to iron it on! lol The bigger kids are going to design their own tshirts for an art project this year. Maybe in a week or two after we have gotten into the swing of things again.
They are really easy. You use regular size vanilla wafers for the muzzle and the mini wafers for the ears, which you have to cut in half. I had to cut several minis to get enough good halves for ears, they had a tendency to break unevenly.
Very cute. I lucked out and the ice cream truck drove by this evening. Ds felt special for his first day of school treat.
Very cute! Silly me when I first looked at them all I saw was the smiley face and realized it was the nose and mouth.
When I first saw them on the internet when I was looking for something special to do...that's one of the first things I noticed too. And that was one of the things that makes it so easy...anyone can make a smilely face!
