We just moved from Louisiana to Arkansas, due to my husband's job transferring him. They are paying for movers to move our stuff, and paying to put us up in a motel until our household goods get here. Well, we have been here two weeks, and they are saying it may be a few more weeks

This move has been so disorganized on their part, that's all I am going to say about that. The company moves people all the time, and I do not understand what happened in our situation. The good thing is we do have a house that we LOVE- it is out in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city we are near. Another bummer about that, though is that our dogs have to live in the house alone until we have beds to sleep in, They spent 5 days in a kennel while we were looking for a house, now we go visit them several times a day to let them outside They are so confused:wink:

My boys are loving it also, they have a hotel pool to swim in and our school books are not here yet, since I thought they would only be a week behind us  We did get to the library so we are doing independent study for now. I have to find the school board this week and file for intent to homeschool, but other than that, we should be okay.

Howdy :) I live in AR also. I live in north central Arkansas outside a tiny town (381) called Viola. My husband's work is in OK right now so we are staying in a motel over there. We have been in motels for 3 1/2 months. So tired of it. We get to come home about once a month for a few days. We have a friend that lives on our property with us and he tends to the critters and house for us. That is nice.

I never thought I could be tired of staying in a motel until I had to live out of one, lol. Vacationing out of one is nice, nothing to do but swim, sleep and eat there for a few days is a treat. Living out of one is TOTALLY different! Laundry piles up, doing that gets expensive, so does eating, which you can not do out a microwave and a tiny fridge no matter how creative you are, lol.

My parents and I moved to Germany when I was 16. They shipped our household goods on a boat and we lived in a hotel for 6 weeks! It was a long six weeks. I was in high school on the Army Base, so I got hot lunch at school. The motel provided breakfast. We at dinner out A LOT! I never thought I would get tired of eating dinner out but I did! LOL!
