One week before we are scheduled to start school, and we have decided to take on an international student, so we're moving our school room! Bookcases, white board, files, craft closet - all moving!! My dining room is being transformed into a school room. I've got tons of stuff to organize and get rid of. And time is ticking!

Really, that's the best way though. If I had started at the begining of summer, I'd probably still be working on it. So, I'm off to create the perfect meld between dining room and school room. Hopefully with a little bit of style. :p

Then I'll be ready to finish assembling our school materials and start on Grade one! (all by Sept 6th?!?)

    Wish me well!

    You'll do just fine!

I've been trying to move our school room to our dining room since December (one DS was supposed to get his own room for Christmas). It's not nearly done. lol

Sewing room? What's that? My machine is on a desk in the dining room, but there's so much OTHER stuff there, too! I'm working on a quilt as a wedding present for my dss, so the machine keeps going back and forth to my kitchen table.

Enjoy the exchange student! Where from?

The christian university near us has a program. We are working things out right now for a 2nd year student from Indonesia. But it's not final yet, we could still end up with someone else.

:0 now if I can keep myself off the computer, I'll get so much more done! But I've listed a bunch of stuff on our local free stuff site. So I've got one job done!

Enjoy your student. Last year we had one from Thailand and this year we have one from China. High school level of course. I don't think we have a college program close enough to use to do an older student.

    Oh My

I can remember a year or two when our dining room was the school room. It does present its challenges but there were also some perks. We were easy to locate. Dad could find us if he came looking. It was easy to see what was going on from the kitchen while I prepared lunch or dinner. It was easy to keep clean because it was a focal point of the house and we had too!

You are right about the last minute thing. Our activity usually expands to fill in time we have allotted. You sound like you have the attitude that is going to carry you right through and it is going to be fine. : )
