LOL! Isn't it good? I just came across the recipe this year. The kids were gone somewhere...can't remember why...and I made Belgium Waffles with the peach sauce and whipped cream for breakfast!
This week Freddy brought home some grapes a lady at church gave us. I had not planned on canning grape juice (and had never made it before), but here were those grapes! I found a recipe and made grape juice. It is so good! Now I am wishing I had a lot more grapes. Emily loves grape juice and will drink this in no time.
Sloan i Think you are doing a Good job . ANd you are storning some Good food and hopefully that will be healthy one . BUt still i've no idea that what kinda food you are canning because u've not mentioned it above . Anyway Best of luck
I have canned beets, corn, tomatoes, pasta sauce, potatoes, salsa, fig preserves, peach preserves, green beans, and grape juice so far this year. I think I am leaving something out, but I can't think what it is right now. Last year I canned cherry jelly and grape jelly and we will do apples soon. I froze some persimmons, yellow squash and butternut squash. Last year we froze field peas, but my kids don't eat them and I don't care for them much so we didn't plant any this year. We have black eyed peas and two kinds of sweet potatoes still growing. I think that is about all for our garden this year. We gave all the extra okra to people at church so we didn't freeze any of it.
Wow, you have been busy. So you are pressure canning those veggies and such? My only question on pressure canning should I use my jar holder out of my water bath to put on the bottom? I have a huge pressure caner and it has an aluminum plate to go between jars so you can stack but not one for bottom of the pan.
