I just signed up because I have lots of stuff I'm willing to give away, but I don't want to pay shipping. How do I get paid for shipping before I fork over my stuff? I searched their FAQs but I'm finding the set up to be a bit confusing. I have lots of things that I'm not using that could be blessing others, but I just don't want to be bothered with making twenty trips to the post office to give it away. Ideas?

When I have used www.curriculumshare.com, I have sent postage to the person I'm receiving books from in the form of a check or money order. When it comes to just a couple dollars, I have sent cash in a card. Another option is to see if you have anything to trade with the other party. I've seen people use paypal, too. In some cases, I've just mailed it out at my expense to save the hassle.

I hadn't seen it either, so though I'm sorry you were off the grid, I'm glad you're back on now and mentioned this place! It sounds good to me. Thanks! :)

I think the whole swap idea is wonderful, but the thing that bothers me is why start a whole new forum also? Just odd to me. Also since a few of the big names there I thought were troll like here. JMO

I don't use the forums there. I like to stick with the Spot for that and check out other places for curriculum like Well Trained Mind, Homeschool Classifieds and Curriculum Share.

Thanks. I'm probably making too much of it, I tend to do that.

I just wish there were a good homeschool charity to support low income home schoolers that I could box everything in together and send it off to. I have lots to get rid of. I hate to sell things.

Yes many many people have used them here and on the well trained mind forum. They are legit and very trust worthy.

Thank you so much. I've had these materials kicking around for a long time and will feel a lot better having them gone to a good cause.

I used to frequent CurriculumShare, but I have since left, there were issues that I felt were left open and I decided that it just wasn't for me. I figure if I need to get rid of curriculum I can post it here for ffs.

YES YES YES!!! I have requested help in the past (and also this year..) and I can totally assure you that they go above and beyond to help hsers at no cost to the families!!!! They try their hardest to fill the requests as closely as they can and throw in "extras" also!! I strongly urge ANY hser that has a few books or dollars to spare to please support them!!!!!
