We are not homeschooling this year since Em wanted to go to the public middle school, but so far I don't have a lot of extra time. I still have to take her to school and pick up Babyboy at his school then hurry over to Em's and get her and our oldest grandson. They usually do homework around 4pm and Babyboy leaves at 6pm. On Wed. I help out at our church afterschool program from 2 until 8pm starting this week. I have enjoyed my mornings though and have been reading a lot of books I had bought and not started. I want to find time to do some sewing eventually. We plan to move to the country in a few more years and I am looking forward to that and have been weeding out things we don't need to move with us. That has been interesting to say the least! So much stuff we do not need!

Well fourteen of our fifteen are already graduated. Only one more to go. She is only 13 now though so I still have several more years. My hubby is now 56 yrs old and we have plans to travel a bit when all the kids are gone :)

I'm going to cry.... because I am going to miss them so much and all our time together.

First I just want to take a deep breathe, pat my self on the back and say way to go. See you can do it. All those bad remarks from people saying you couldn't you just showed them now its time to do the happy dance.

Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to adopt, but we had our own and now don't have the space for any more. Eventually (God willing), when our boys are either older or grown, I'd like to adopt 1-2 older children (non-babies).

I will cry along with you. Homeschooling allows us to talk a path with our children that we otherwise would not have shared with them. It will be bitter sweet.

I cried when each child grew up and left home. I still miss them, even my 31 yr old. That doesn't totally go away. I am now 49 and I can look forward to having them all graduate. I have been at it almost 20 yrs and am getting a little bit tired. I still love it. Love it very much but a little tired non the less. I am also looking forward to mine and my husband's plans of traveling the country on our bike :)

Bren, have you met Nancy yet? She just finished a 2-year bike trip with her dh and boys from Alaska to Argentina.

My oldest son has repeatedly informed us he's not moving out, ever. He has plans though. He's going to open a business....I suggest he start by building himself an office ;)

Our next oldest confided in me he's not going to stay here forever like his brother plans to. Instead, his plan is to buy the house next door LOL

I guess I'm glad they like us. As for me, I'm QUITE sure I'll stay busy, but I doubt I'll pursue a career again. My DH is very mobile, and I doubt I'd be able to stay in one spot long. But he's also a big "idea guy," and there are always things I can work on for him.

I think I might like to try my hand at writing again someday. No big plans for me, though.

This is funny, because my 5 yo daughter asked me the other day " what are you going to do when you get a job and grow up" LOL I told her I was going to nap a lot. I have a long ways to go since my youngest isn't even 3 yet. But I want to retire. I do not have career drives, or goals, because my goal is to raise my kids, and teach them. If I have to work that will be fine. But my career is to be a teacher to my kids.

Given that I am 46, and my youngest is 5 mos. old, I have many years of job security ahead of me.:lol::lol:

I want to be a Midwife, but since that takes 6 years of school or more, and I will be 50 if we homeschool until Cameron graduates, I don't see that happening, that is too late in life to go crazy in debt for school.

Hubby wants us to both get our CDL licences and do long haul trucking together. We will see when the time comes. I have a long time before then.

... when I started teaching my youngest K I cried, not because he was starting his schooling but because I realized I would be this old when he reached high school. I really did have aspirations to do more--- I wanted to live on a ranch/farm nothing big but with land enough to have a kids camp in the summers, and retreats for adults or youth in the winters.
I pray that God will bring this to me someday but since he stumbled us into this home school thing, which btw today I was ready to throw in the towel myself ! lol first Monday and things are going to have to tighten up lol.

i seriously thought of going back to work today so I could send ds2 to private school we were having such teen moments! lol but he settled down and came and prayed for me wiht my headache and sick stomach and made me laugh as soon as he finished his school work.

Upcoming surgeries have put my ideas on hold. Joyce is 16 and my oldest plans on the older two grands being in public school so I would love to either go back to school or get a job. I went through Vocational Rehab this past spring and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Between the physical therapy - a heated saline/chlorine pool was awesome! - and classes, I felt the best I have about myself in a very long time. I would love to do something in the Social Service Field. I'm not sure I want to commit to very many years of school so I'm looking at either an assistant or my counselor said that sometimes you can be hired on and they will train you themselves. I would love to give back after so many things our family has been through. First I have to get my body straight lol. I had my first carpal tunnel surgery a month ago and have a hip consult on the 20th. I'm looking at several replacements. I feel like I'm falling apart lol! In the meantime, I'm keeping the 4 yr old as she wasn't able to get into school this year.

Well we have been thinking about this a lot, so both myself and dh are studying towards a degree and in about 8 years time I will work part time as a lawyer :) its hard work but totally worth it and its teaching our kids valuable life lessons (well we hope lol)

My dh & I may go into the mission field full-time. He is currently attaining his pilots license so he could be a missionary pilot. I started the medical editor/transcription course a couple months ago. I figured that would give me something of my own to do. Also a friend's husband passed away a few months ago and left her with no money, job or life insurance and 8 kids. When we started homeschooling I left the work force and dh is the provider. If something were to happen to him I want to be able to provide. God has a tendency to change our plans so who knows where I will be. :)
