Yep. That's right. Snow. And I don't even live in Alaska! It's wet and yucky out there, and we have to drive 3 hours away to a meet tomorrow. Fun.
It's coming. Our weather guy is talking Nor'easter. I haven't had the heart to look at the snowfall total map yet (I think I need a stiff drink first!) Ugh. I still have fall cleanup to get done outside, move my critters into the barn, and locate the snow shovel. I'm not ready to start lugging water yet  I just looked. 5-10
Yeah. Branch fell in our yard, ran down the side of the house tearing the siding. The hole is facing up, so the snow is going right in there. Absolutely NOTHING I can do about it right now, except pray that no more fall and take out the power line that is now completely entangled in the branch. Sigh.
I'm sorry- what a mess!! I worry about that and power outages. A lot of leaves still left on the trees (although I'm sure not as many as you guys!) How much snow did you get?
We have about 3 inches right now, but it's the really wet, really dense snow, so ALL the trees on our property are dragging low and scaring the snot out of me right now!!!! Two branches are pressing on the line. We just lost about half a tree that is down in street now...gotta get some boots and coat on and try to drag it off the street, we live on a very busy road, afraid it's going to cause and accident....might have to wait for hubby, don't know if I can lift it.
We are in Texas so don't see too much snow. We did have it fall a teeny bit on Thursday, but nothing stuck. Good luck with clean up and stay safe!!
I have family in Upstate NY and they are looking at close to a foot before it is finished. I keep telling them to come down for a visit lol!
WOW!!! And I'm not THAT far from you! I just came in from putting some of the compost I've been building for over a year into my garden and turning some of it over. It's a really nice seasonally fall day here!
How funny, I live in Alaska and we don't have snow yet!!! Their is snow up in the mountains but not down here yet. Be safe.
Wow no snow here yet but I hear it's coming from north of us. ( So not ready I still have to get the kids their winter boots...
Spent all afternoon outside cleaning up around the barn, and getting everyone settled inside. It's coming down cats and dogs outside now. LOL- we carved pumpkins, debated where to keep the darn things, then spent 10minutes staring out at the flakes. WEIRD, and I do remember snow on the ground this time of year when I was a kid, but it has been a loooooooooong time. Thankfully, boots and coats from last year seem to fit just fine. *phew*
Today was sunny 68 degrees here just west of Ft Worth. Tomorrow's high is 70. We don't usually get our "real" winter till late December or mid January. but even then, it's kind of hit and miss. We could have snow on Christmas and have to pull out the shorts and Tshirt for New Years. Ahh, Texas!!
I am not ready for snow! I do not like winter at all anyway, so snow in October really would freak me out!
We did bring out the down comforter last night, and it will probably stay until sometime around the end of March, at which time it will be replaced with the quilt I made.
Just curious - what's the latest snow amounts to those in Pennsylvania and Maine who mentioned snow fall already accumulating this afternoon? Heard downstate NY is expecting possibly a foot! Nothing in Western NY.....yet.
We have about 8 to 9 inches now. We lost power around 3, and it just returned. We had a good family night together though. I'm glad it's on now....now we just have to get to MD tomorrow!!! EEEK! We're going to call our insurance company Monday and figure out what to do about the siding. We lost several trees, and lots of LARGE branches. Cleanup is not going to be fun at all.
We have about 6 inches of this yucky stuff! I am not amused at having snow in October! Thankful, though that we still have power. Hope to continue that trend!
