Mint Chocolate Cake Recipe Anyone?

My 5yo DS wants a Mint Chocolate Cake for his birthday. I love mint chocolate, but in a cake just doesn't sound good to me. Anyone have a tried and true recipe they could share? TIA

 

That sounds terrible. Talk him into peppermint patties with chocolate cake on the side.

 

Oh, but I have found two recipes and it is beginning to look and sound much better!!

I would make a chocolate cake and possible add a few mint chips in the batter and then make a mint frosting. I like mint so it sounds delicious to me!

I think what I am going to do however, is use my favorite Chocolate Chip Cake recipe and use Andes Mint Pieces instead of chocolate chips.

 

How about a plain chocolate cake, with crushed mint cookies in the batter and in the icing? Phillip wants a Mississippi Mud Pie for his birthday party on Friday!
