I read a book that highly rec. the Accelerated Christian Education program. I was curious of anyone has used it and if they used the at home program (not online) and what you thought of it- did it seem to cover everything expected at the age/grade level? Was it just workbooks or more to it? Any thoughts? Thanks!
our church school used to use it , they still use the christian counseling course for seniors, but for the most part the kids found it boring? why? I don't know. They use SOS and some ace like I mentioned above now and a few other things I am sure.
My SIL used ACE when she was in high school. She said it was too boring and too easy to cheat your way through. She didn't learn anything.
I graduated using ACE and got a good education and did quite well in college. The early years are a bit slow, but seem to catch up in the upper grades. The math did not go as high as I would have liked though for our family. We are not using it because my boys are 6 and it is quite a bit of seat work, which fared very well for me as a high schooler, but would not do just yet for my littly squiggly wigglys. There is an ACE yahoo group where you can get lots of your questions answered by those who use it. It is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ACEhomeschoolingsupport/ . I liked the amount of Bible that is covered in each of their subjects and memory work that goes with each pace. Rod and Staff also does a great job using Bible in each of their subjects and relating to the subjects, but more in a textbook style and more teacher directed. Blessings to you and your search.
We use ACE for a lot of our subjects and love it. The information is thorough and easy to grasp. Not to easy but they make it easy to retain.
