Has anyone used Writing with Skill by Susan Wise Bauer? The website talks more about Writing with Ease (for younger kids) but I'm considering Writing with Skill for my 6th grader. So I'd be interested in reviews of either one. I only ran across this the other day at a bookstore. I had never heard of it before. I'd love to hear reviews.

I bought Writing with Ease this year for my second grader. It basically gives an outline what to do each week to slowly build up to them writing on their own with their own ideas. It starts with copy work and narration. It ends at the 4 year mark with dictation and narration writing. It's a good guide to have, in my opinion. I've been trying to use it without the workbook, coming up with my own writing assignments, but I've discovered I just am not good at that, so I'm going to try the workbook next year. I think it'll go a lot smoother that way. I haven't looked into Writing with Skill yet, but if it's like Writing with Ease, I'll probably use it when my kids are older.
