STAPLES........... 8 for $1 the lid actually stays on pretty good if you have it snapped on tight, for security with a dip maybe put a rubberband around it..... all I've put in them so far for my DH's lunch is almonds.

I also use the Gladware small cups..... with red lids that twist on, they are about a half cup I think...... you just don't have to fill them up so much.......

The size issue is in the lunch box itself, not how much food we need. lol. The boys have Goodbyn Bynto boxes and there isn't a lot of room for a dip container. (And the boxes just barely fit into our thermal bags, so it has to go in the box.)

The store itself didn't have any (but it's a small town, so...). I'll check the link, but another friend send me a link to SUPER cheap small tin containers. They're perfect and $.58 each.

I got mine at a Dollar Tree too - they sell small rectangles and small rounds. i think they hold 2 Tbs...My hubby uses for salad dressing. I use for candies for the kids coop lunches, etc.

    :)

2nd suggestion - go to a Michael's or other type crafty store and get bead sorters! they usually have a screw on cap and are small...probably would fit in the Bento box.

the glad ware ones have twist on lids... I prefer them to the ziplock ones, however the ziplock (I think-- blue lid) has a rectangle container for salad or carrot and celery sticks and it comes with a small container that goes right inside for dressing or dip, it goes right onto the lid and cradles in the middle of what ever you put in like your salad... or you could put chips and dip or what ever and it fits in the lunchbox.

I took one of the boxes to Walmart shortly after I posted this; none of the ones they had there fit. Even the "tiny" Gladware ones were entirely too big. Guess I can't properly convey how little of a thing I was looking for. lol

HAHHA! Actually, those aren't too far off what I ordered. Ok, the tins I ordered are a bit bigger, but not by much.

Nope. lol. When I said "tiny," I meant it. But these will be just enough. I also ordered some 1 oz. glass bottles for sauces (my boys love ketchup on their chips, but sitting in a lunch box like that makes for a soggy mess). The bottles could have been replaced by the tins, as well, but I thought they were fun. And for about $.50 each, sign me up!

I got 6 tins and 6 bottles for about $6. Of course, shipping was $9, but $15 is still a small price to pay for something like that.

Mine came in today and I'm super happy with what I ordered! I got tins and glass bottles (I did get the 1oz. tins, Amy). The glass bottles, 1oz., are actually bigger than I expected. I should probably have ordered the 1/2oz. jars. 1 oz. is a lot of dressing!

My mind is already buzzing with all the ways I can use the containers from this website!!!

Awesome! We use a Planet Box (stainless steel bento) and I want the glass and tin containers. The sauce ones I use are plastic, and I hate plastic. I might have to order those sometime soon.

I really want Planet Boxes, but it's hard to spend that much (you know, since we have to have 5) in one sitting. We have GoodByn Byntos because I won one in a contest, then they had a REALLY good sale on colors they were discontinuing. I picked up the other 4 for less than the price of 2.

I need to just buy one Planet Box ever two months or something. I'm also not sure if they'll fit in our insulated lunch bags (I have these thermal totes from 31 Gifts personalized for each of us. The boys are in love with them and refuse to pack lunches without them). Because I won the GoodByn, I knew it fit, so I was confident in ordering them.

I've never heard of Planet Boxes, so I looked them up. All I can say is, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! There is NO WAY I'd spend that much on a lunch box, I don't care HOW eco-friendly it is!!! The lunch bags my kids got for free from the library reading program will work just fine, thank you!
