this weekend, my son is testing for his Jr. Black Belt - tomorrow at 12:30!!! I'm so nervous for him!!! His instructor keeps saying he's ready....but....I'm still nervous. Tomorrow night I'm going to see Tim Hawkins live with a friend. Sunday, my oldest has a gymnastics meet on Sunday. She's had sort of a rough season this year, so hoping that she does well...she's hoping for her first 36 of the season...me too!!! I'm tired just thinking about it!!!! I've been sick for at least 3 weeks....so I'm hoping I don't get worse over the weekend.
Wowee! What a weekend! Been thinking of your family lately and wondering how things were going for your Dd. Praying for all to have a very successful weekend.
So far, it's going okay.... Son is now officially a Jr. Black Belt. I couldn't be prouder. Yes, I did cry. LOL Tim Hawkins was AMAZING, I have not laughed that hard in a really, really long time. I am now exhausted! Tomorrow is the meet. My daughter received a devastating blow tonight - my husband's been putting goff making videos of her entire 6 season. And, well, all of the videos are gone except for the most recent ones. She apparently cried for a REALLY long time about the fact that we have NONE of the videos from the first half of her season. Please pray that she doesn't let this get her down tomorrow. I'm praying for cool confidence and a good meet. I am really upset about the videos too, but there's really nothing that can be done about it. It is what it is. Sigh.
Well, the meet was today. She did not get the ever elusive 36 AA. BUT...she did get the highest score of all the girls at all levels at the meet (there were 3 levels there). AND she got a 9.55 on beam!!!! She's happy with her performance. The judging was REALLY tough today....her coaches felt a few of her scores were definitely lower than they needed to be. AND her knee really acted up...I was surprised she was able to do floor at all today because after she warmed up, she iced it and was crying really hard (she has chondramalacia - her knee cap doesn't track properly)....totally unlike her. There was a moment today when she did floor that the entire place was looking at her b/c there were no other apparatus (apparati?) going at that time. She did her routine, and it was very beautiful, and the entire place applauded and cheered and whooped and hollered when she was done. And whens he got off beam, lots of folks were 'Wow, did you see that girl? She was REALLY good"....then her score came up, and the whole place applauded. I was really proud of her. She got off the floor, and one of the judges from another team said "Wow, I thought you weren't going to be able to do your routine after seeing you during warm up - you really did an excellent job!". Anyway, even though she didn't get the scores she wanted, she got so much more - and I think that's even more important.
