Hello! I was wondering if any of you have used the DIVE cd for Saxon Math. I'm looking at Algebra 1....I have used the one from Saxon called "SaxonTeacher" and was wondering if it is similar to that? It (DIVE) is described as a "virtual whiteboard" with lesson instruction, and that is basically what the one from Saxon is....any thoughts?
I watched a demo of the DIVE CD today and it is similar to the Saxon Teacher CD. I didn't like it as well as the Saxon Teacher, though. IMO the man on the DIVE CD speaks faster and is harder to understand than the woman who does the Saxon Teacher CD. You might want to listen to the demo and judge for yourself.
I have the DIVE Cd for my dd.. and I like it. Now I do have to say that I have not seen the other, but my dd understands it and if not I have her re listen. Most of the lessons are only about 7 to 9 mins long some are shorter .... but I am using the Alg. 1/2 .
I was considering getting one of those for 8/7. I wasn't sure it was worth the money, they seem so expensive.
I have used the Dive CDs with my older kids, DD is now using the Advanced Math, and DS is using Algebra I. I think it depends on the particular child's learning style. DD hasn't used the CDs in years, but DS benefits greatly from them. I purchase the CDs when I buy DDs curriculum, and then hang on to them for DS, so that I will have the right version to go with the text.
