I'm thinking of jumping off-course a little. I'd planned to use MOH 3 next year, but I'm considering taking a year off and doing GTG instead. My son is wanting to spend time on geography, and it always ends up getting brushed to the side when time is limited. I think GTG is something both kids could do together next year (ages 4 & 7 at that time).

What do you think of it? Did you use it as a stand-alone, or incorporate it into other subjects as well? I'd like to use is as a stand-alone, mostly. I'd also use Geography Songs & GeoDice for name practice, online resources and library books for things like populations, cultures, climates, etc., and library books for stories, etc.

I haven't heard of it either but would love to hear from someone who has. I'm looking for something for Geography next year too.

I haven't used it, but almost did. I ended up making up my own studies in a similar style. I started out incorporating other subjects, but it works better for us if we don't do that and just follow any natural rabbit trails we encounter.

I went and looked at it today at Mardel's. I loved it! It really does look like it'll work for both my kids. There are coloring and dot-to-dot pages, country flags, and things like that (both or younger), and there are word searches, crosswords, etc. (older). There are lots of additional reading materials to draw lapbooks from, including one to cook for countries around the world. There's a unit on Christmas around the world, too. It's a pretty cool little study, and it looks very adaptable to pretty much any learning/teaching style. There's a CD inside, not sure what's on it, and there's a separate (CD or DVD??), but it didn't look like it was worth the extra $25. The book alone looked great.
