Kris I know! I am on my last kid doing High School until he wants to go to church's high school, He and I are trying to get the best of both worlds by adding PE and Music so we can hang out there an do drama with the kids. Hoping to get enough $ to pay our gas too and from each these are offered

We are going to do a 2 year walk through World History. We made up our own plan. We are also doing World Geography.

Math is still undecided. I have one who wants mastery and one who I am still trying to get him to learn his multiplication.

For science we are doing middle school lessons a friend gave us and they have dvds. The kids are excited.

Language Arts: Reading is Abeka reading books and the library. They have to write a book report weekly. For grammar and writing we are using Essentials in Writing and I can not believe how much help in writing it has been. I am so glad we made the move. We are also still working through a poetry lesson book with me learning all the different kinds of poetry. They have been writing books for 3 years now for fun and I always leave that to them.

Art and Music are Abeka and what I find on the internet.

One is learning Italian and the other is learning Spanish. They are self taught all the way on this. Since it is what they want I leave them to do it on their own. I do get materials for them. I also am teaching them American Sign Language (ASL).

I still need some kind of Kids course on computer programming because one of the boys is so interested in that he's 10.

Every year they get more and more excited because I am learning what they need more and more.

Already planning for Fall of next year, we'll be all done with school for the younger kids by the end of next week and my HS kids will be done by early next month.

Sophmore DD - Teaching Textbooks Algebra 1, Lit. Daybooks World Literature, Spanish 2, Christian Liberty Press Biology, Bob Jones American History, Electives

The twins, Grade 6 - Climbing to Good English, Singapore Math grade 5, Alpha Omega History, Alpha Omega Health Quest, Parables from Nature science.

4th Grader - Horizons Math, Easy Grammar 3

3rd Grader - Horizons Math, Alpha Omega Language arts

Both - Reason for spelling level D, Christian Liberty exploring God's creation science, History through living books

2 first graders - Math and reading workbooks, Our fathers World science, History textbook.

This is a very loose plan and will probably be changed up some by the beginning of next year. My oldest on is off to College next year :tear: This year I won't be starting the year of pregnant *well, probably not* So hopefully that will make things easier, it'll be my 10th year homeschooling! <3

As we prepare for high school, I keep thinking about all the past years and how fast they passed. I remember when Ems started Kindergarten and now she is starting high school.

So, I just got back from a homeschooling conference -- it was invaluable for nailing down what I wanted to do!! :D

    Here's what we're using:

    American History/Literature/Bible: Notgrass Company
I am so excited about this one! I love how it is all interweaved, with the historical documents and the novels. I think we will still do some Drive Through History videos and most likely some History Channel documentaries. (we love History around here!)

    Biology: Switched on Schoolhouse
After much inner-debate. I'm not a huge fan of reading the textbook on the computer, but I liked the embedded videos and that some of the labs are on videos. I also liked the interactive questions/answers/quizzes. Another plus was the pronunciations for more difficult words. Our History/Literature is heavy reading, so I thought this might be a good compromise.

Personal Finance: Dave Ramsey's Foundations in Personal Finance
I felt strongly in getting this started ASAP; it should wrap up in 4-5 months since it is only one semester, so we will quickly move on to:
    Algebra: Math-U-See

Government / Elections 2012: Unit Studies by Amanda Bennett
I'm going to go ahead and forge ahead with doing a Government/Elections course because of the Elections this November. No better timing to interweave into current events! We will likely also study the presidents and the Constitution a bit here, in a bigger realm than normal government studies do.

    Grammar/Writing: Applied Grammar
I like how the writing is to be centered on what you're learning elsewhere in other courses, yet it still gives lots of leeway for the student choosing what they want to write about on their own.

    German: Rosetta Stone, USAB
coupled with the Rosetta Stone, we will be learning the culture/history/geography of Germany via the Unit Study by Amanda Bennett.

    Computer Lit and/or Desktop Publishing:
I'll pulling from my own files from teaching those classes in the ps.

American History 1976 - WWI: This Country of Ours (continue to add to My America Binder of handwriting, drawings and maps) Caddie Woodlawn, Carry On Mr. Bowditch, Harriet Tubman Conductor on the Underground Railroad, Buffalo Bill bio, Thomas Edison bio
Geography We have two walls maps and we find each place we read about in any of our lessons. Online US geography games at www.sheppardsoftware.com
Literature Age of Fable, Stories of Beowulf, King Arthur and His Knights, Robinson Crusoe, Merry Adventures of Robinhood, Favorite Celtic Fairy Tales
Poetry Alfred Tennyson, Emily Dickinson, William Wordsworth

    OKAY! WEEE HOO!
So here's the thing My what I planned is now on more of a clear track thanks to this thread!
Bible: Daily Reading Bible - it comes with a short though provoking encouragement with occasional assignments. Plus; Exploring World HistoryNotgrass has Bible in it as well.
    Math: MUS ALGEbRA2
English: World Literature via Exploring World History plus Composition and Grammar tenth grade via Abeka
Also various readings for assigned novels.
History/Social Studies/Geography: World History -Notgrass- Exploring World History
Plus Various Video lessons to enhance and view what History was like.
Science: Biology - A search for Order in Complexity 2nd edition. ( I chose this because it is a cross between my two choices one of which was dry but full of information, and the other of which was exciting and colorful. It has four books but two are TMs also the step by step experiments will be so much fun to follow! Being a non scientific person I found this text review to be exciting and I can't wait for class to start! I have to get things cleared out in the office space for it to sit for the summer or I may not let us have a summer! )
PE- Either with Private School ( really need to put together my proposal for this one) or Fall Sports.
    Music- Band or Chorus
Drama- Community theater ( And drama class if my proposal is received)
Computer Elective: Java Script and other advanced Computer subjects
