I haven't been here in forever! How is everybody?? Some of you I see on FB.;)
I hope all are doing well.

We're hanging in there. Jeannie's first time in a 'traditional' school setting is coming to an end soon. They get out before Memorial Day.
It hasn't been too bad, although communication between school and home could use some improvement. Jeannie has been enjoying it, though. For me, I take it a year at a time, because there are things that have come up that I never expected.

    So, we'll see..

It is so good to see you on here! I think we have had the same school year! Emily has enjoyed her year for the most part but there have been some issues I could have don't without. For now she wants to go back there next year and Freddy and I plan on letting her unless something changes before then. Our biggest issue is not so much with the school as it is the system they use to list grades and assignments. Emily will take a test and we may wait 3 weeks or more to see the grade. Drives me crazy! On the other hand we have really seen Emily mature and start to take more responsibility for her own work. EOGs coming up soon. I will be glad when that is over and I am really looking forward to summer break!

Me, too! Isn't it lovely when school is off for whatever reason?? Jeannie was home over a week for Easter, and I sopped that up like a big dog, lol. I miss her being home, I really do. But, like you say, maturity really blossomed in Jeannie, too. I honestly think it's because MOTHER isn't the teacher anymore. That whole mother/child issue is just gone, kwim?

I'm glad your year has been nice, too!

Good to see you, Becky. Even better to hear things are going well and Jeannie is enjoying it. My Dd really enjoyed the brick and mortar school for a time. Things started to get ridiculous at our tiny school and she asked to come back home, but it was issues you would probably not see if the school was in an area where people have a little more whits about them. ;)

Sometimes having a different teacher makes all the difference! I know it did with Rachael when I sent her out for English! All my kids are more willing to be accountable to someone else.

Jeannie will start high school in just three years, so yeah- where did that time go! I remember stressing as I thought about hsing her for real, back in kindergarten. Honestly, it felt like preparing to jump off a cliff!:lol:
