I was recently browsing through and I found the Site Time 4 Learning. It claimed to be the Go-To Learning Site for Children with Autism. I was wondering if anyone had tried it, and their child actually liked it and learned from it. I am finding curriculum for Patryk for later on in the year. Any input would be MUCH appreciated!

We used it exclusively for 4th grade which was our first year homeschooling. It was a good fit for that first year while we de-schooled and became comfortable with our new HS journey. He is a very visual learner so he liked and learned from T4L. His ITBS test scores taken in 4th also reflected it. He is now in 6th and we have moved on to other curriculum but I do think it was well worth the no contract , no commitment, 20.00 month cost. IMHO it needs to be supplemented with something else but we didn't do that.

We've used it as a supplement on a couple of occasions. My daughter's a visual learner with an auditory processing problem, so we've used it when we've needed to give her an extra visual boost in some area.

You can try it out for free, and they're very good about letting you drop without hassling you at all. One thing that's really nice is that you pick a grade level [e.g. 2nd grade] and get access to three [e.g. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd].

The last time we used it, we really liked the art addition to the site. My son used that part.

I'd recommend trying the free trial and seeing if it's a fit or not. Can't hurt!

At his age I'd also look into ABCmouse.com

I know it sounds odd since it's so hyped and advertised, but a)it's half the price, b)you can use it for both your older boys, c)it's diverse and super fun, d)Xander gives it his stamp of approval. lol.

I also loved T4L and they have the advantage of being useful past K/1st.

We use time for learning, I get books from the library that go with the lessons,(they have lists of book ideas), I find projects/crafts that go with the lessons. We used it for first grade and will use it again for our kinder., and second grade. I also use apps on my iPad to add to the lessons and extra practice.

We used it our first year. I loved it! The boys did really well. ( they tested really well that year).

The pros were that it hit all the state standards, and it graded all the work for me!

The cons in the older grades the social studies and science are just like reading a book online. My oldest did not care for that. And my youngest clicked through the lessons fast.

Just like any other curriculum I believe it works as good as its worked. I probably would have stayed with it had I known what I know now. I could have made it work for us.

My suggestion would be to sign up for the forums over there and just read because that is where all the real information is! :D

He had ABCMouse.com for about a month, and it was nice, but I guess it was to slow paced for Pat and he didn't really like it. Beau loved it though and used it quite a bit. In the end it was just too much expense for too little useage, KWIM?

Considering your son's age, you might look at Clever Dragons for stuff that might work for him. We use it as a supplement for my son [my daughter uses the sister site Always Ice Cream]. The site covers a wide range of subjects, including things like typing and geography. As the boy does the work, he earns gold that he can use to 'spend' to build up a castle and 'buy' stuff.
