One of our older daughters and her husband love to take Emily, our just turned 14 yesterday youngest daughter, to concerts. They usually take her to concerts she picks but tonight she has gone with them to see Willie Nelson. I know she will have a blast. She loves country music. They took her to see Lady Antebellum, or something like that, last week and they are going to Big Time Rush soon. In Nov. they are going back to see Carrie Underwood. I am so blessed to have daughters that love each other so much and enjoy spending time together like they do. Em is like a daughter to Katie in some ways. There is a 20 year age difference. Today we went to buy some camp clothes for Emily for next week and on the way home she started telling us how much she appreciated us and how much joy we had given her in the last two years. She was so sweet. When we were shopping she would pick out something and try it on. If it fit and she wanted it she would ask if she could get it and I said yes. Every single time she said thank you mama. I love that kid so much! This has been a stressful year for my family with the death of Freddy's sister, Bobby going to Afghanistan again, Freddy's accident when he hit the man riding the scooter, Crystal moving out, and Emily going back to public school. I guess I just wanted to share something positive and precious with my friends on here. Beth
It's always a "lift" when there's something positive to share amongst what seems (or feels) like a never ending dark tunnel
I had to add this. They are at the concert right now and my phone has rung twice with it showing a call coming in from Katie. When I answer all I hear is Willie Nelson singing. I don't know if they are dialing my number by accident or are trying to let me hear him sing. Nobody says a word, just some singing and then it cuts off. Hope they are having fun but will be glad when Em gets home.
