Does anyone know where she is? I ordered books from her 2 months ago, but they never arrived, and she hasn't been online in more than a month. I know she was starting a new job, but ...? Does anyone know how to get money back in paypal?

Do you have her main email address or street address?
You can also open a "dispute" on Paypal. I'm not sure how to do that but you could go the their help links and find out.

Thanks. I sent an email to the address she gave me for the paypal payment, but I haven't gotten a response.

 

If it has been 2 months I would file a PayPal claim. I'm assuming you have tried contacting her in the past couple months. I would check to see if PayPal will still allow you to make a claim. I think the window of time to place a claim runs up around 2 months. You can always remove the claim if contact with her resolves the issue.

 

To file a Paypal claim, you must have paid with the goods option. I'd definitely go that route if you've not been able to contact her. Two months is a long time, especially to not receive any communication.

 

Yeah, she insisted on the personal option to avoid fees, so paypal says there's nothing they can do. I've never had that happen before, so I didn't even think about it.

 

That is what I am always worried about when doing those kinds of deals. I guess it's good that you are putting it here so nobody else will buy more books from her. Sorry for your loss though

 

She posted about a possible job back in May. I can't find a post more recent. Maybe she got busy with the job and hasn't been back on ???

I doubt she's gone. She's been a member here for a while, and I know summer is crazy for some. I just wonder if she forgot, or possibly sold them to someone else, too.

 

Sorry you got taken. PayPal's claim window is 45 days, but that's for goods only. I always insist on paying that way, even if I have to cover the additional fees. I don't know how much money you're out and how upset you are, but you can call PayPal and let them know what happened and file a police report with her local station, just use her address listed in PayPal.

 

I'd be more apt to believe that something came up, or something Mommix3 has been a member a looooong time, and she's never really seemed like the flakey type. I know she's sold stuff to others here without issue. I think even I bought something from her a couple summers ago...and I was the one having trouble getting the money to her, and she was really patient.

Yay! Glad to hear it...I was a bit worried about her since she didn't seem like the type.

 

I also paid for items over 2 months ago from the same lady and no books yet... I paid through gift and can't get a refund. She contacted me a yesterday after no contact what so ever in over a month and a half and said she got a new job and she was sending the books out. Hopefully it is an honest mistake and not someone scamming, but at this point I want believe it until I receive the books! :/ I will never pay by gift again! What did you pay for? I paid for Rod and Staff 2nd grade language.

I realize I'm new here and the person being discussed is a long time member, but if someone took my money and didn't contact me for 2 months I'd be quite upset. I find it unnerving that everyone seems to be defending her actions. If she got a job and was super busy, just refund everyone. It's just one click on the main page in PayPal. Sorry to sound controversial but I felt it should be said.

 

We should try to keep the peace and help resolve the issue rather than focusing on an offense. I believe the issue might already have been resolved at this time.
