Since he is almost 7 now I think Babyboy has outgrown his nickname on here. So I will call him Oz for this story. Recently he has lost several teeth including one he pulled by himself at my house. I put the tooth and some cash in a baggie and sent it home with him. About a week later I happened to think of it and asked his mom if she does the tooth fairy since Oz had not mentioned it to me. She said oh no! When she told him to put his tooth under his pillow and the tooth fairy would come while he was asleep and take the tooth and leave him some money he freaked out. She said he looked at her and went, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! You are telling me a stranger is coming into my room while I'm asleep?! Is the alarm on? You tell her to keep her money and I will keep my tooth!" Freddy and I laughed until we cried. Needless to say the Tooth Fairy will not be visiting our boy!
How funny. Reminds me of a story. Last year when ds was 6, he announced one day that the Easter Bunny sort of creeped him out. He was ok with the concept of Jesus or even Santa always watching him because they were people. But, the idea of an animal always watching him was not right.
it would scare me as a child to have the tooth fairy come in my room......I think my tooth fairy came to the bathroom or living room....... and so did it for my kids...... they left their teeth next to the TV on the TV stand......... because frankly the tooth fairy might get lost in their messy rooms!
Carl would never remember, and that darned tooth would sit under my kids' pillow for several days....
Jackie, I would forget and the kids would say the tooth fairy didn't come. I would have to hurry around and put something under the pillow or even inside the pillowcase. I would come back and hint around that sometimes the money was hard to find and maybe they should double check. When they asked about the tooth being left I would say it was so pretty the tooth fairy let them keep it. I am afraid I had to do that several times.
