For those who have used these, are there any specific art supplies you think I need to make sure we have? Thanks! Just trying to get a final list of things to pick up in town this weekend, but I don't have the SOTW activity book yet to look through :)

I love the SOTW activity book! It has been awhile since I have used it, so I do not remember specific art supplies needed. There is a lot of map work so colored pencils would be nice. I don't remember any of the crafts using anything out of the ordinary...I am no help! Lo.

I've been planning MOH for a week or so now and there are all sorts of odds and ends needed. My lesson plan book has a section for "supplies needed" and I just list them out as I go. I've just finished planning the first quarter of Vol. 1 and I listed everything from paper plates and crafting stones to a clay pot to poster board and paint. You'll need all your supplies to make your Wall of Fame right from the start, but the rest I'm going to buy a little at a time. You will need clay several times, but so far that's the only repeated item that I wouldn't otherwise have on hand.

Wow! We are doing the timeline, and maybe a random activity here or there from MOH, but for the most part I think we will be doing mostly activities from SOTW. Not all of them, but most of the ones that are more representative of the kind of art from that time/place.

Honestly, I think I need a lot more supplies for Apologia (Young Explorers) than for MOH. lol. At least YE gives you a list of each week's supplies at the beginning of the book. I just think too many of the MOH activities look like too much fun to skip. And I'm not combining it with SOTW, so we have a little more time than you will. We certainly aren't doing all of the activities, but many. And I'm using MOH for all three of my school-aged kiddos, so it seems more fun to do big group things. I'm super excited about the Gideon lesson because I want to be a crazy person outside breaking pots. lol

We use SOTW. It mostly requires basic art supplies and stuff you have laying around your house. There's no main supply list because you're not expected to do all the activities, just choose a few. I'd recommend crayons, colored pencils, paint, glue, cardstock, and clay (like crayola air drying clay). Sometimes they'll need cardboard, but if you have an unused box around, you can use that. I would say you could do the majority of activities with what I mentioned. I don't use MOH, so I'm sure about anything extra you'll need with that.
