My youngest likes them, and my dd11 did until last year. I love the hands-on concept, but not everyone else does. Ready-made ones are easy, but even putting one together yourself isn't hard. It just takes time.
We LOVE them !!! My dd is a hands on sort of kid. She likes coloring in blank ones, the cutting out of the templates, not to crazy about writting all the info in, but that is part of her penmanship work. You could write the info for you child if needed. She also likes reading the books to go with the subject.
That sounds like Breanna, lol. She is very artsy and love to color or make anything really. She is always finding something to do even if it is coloring on a pizza box
We do them mainly with our co-op. I have done a couple at home and they are fun but dd can take them or leave them.
My boys adore them. They like having something big and shiny and colorful and tangible to show off to DH when he gets home.
Mine like coffee filters (with markers and then you spray it with a water bottle for a tye die affect LOL) But I am sure they would color on a pizza box too
I'm doing these this year, just by topic. Right now we're learning about Egypt and I like the idea of having everything we've learned through the year all chronicled out at the end of the school year this year. I'm doing it with my 2nd grader only. He can cut, glue, and write by himself so it's a good fit for us right now. I also love that he can pull it out and show my husband what he's been learning.
