JosieB suggested I have a baby naming contest so here we go! We had our baby boy last night and we still don't have a name! Throw anything you have our way. We like more traditional names but so far all the ones we have thought about don't fit him so maybe we need to think outside the box. Ready. Set. Go!
Well, not knowing your other kids' names, I have: William, Jackson, Levi, James, Waylon, Garrett, Aaron, Jacob, Silas....
Aaron and jacob are currently on our list bur we are not sure about middle names or if we want to use those for middle names. The names we are currently considering: Michael Aaron Jacob Daniel We could use a few other suggestions...
So does the winner get to hold the little bundle of joy?!?!?! If we have another I'm leaning toward Josiah-though it's a bit more popular than I like for my kids' names or Judah I also like: Isaac Elijah Sergei Pavel Zion Joshua Mikhail Gabriel Titus Nehemiah Ivan Spartak Abraham Asher Roman Wyatt Lawrence Nikolai (I have a thing for Hebrew and Russian LOL) And of course I'm partial to the names Ephram (which means fruitful) and Malachi (means my messenger; my angel)
Congratulations! Welcome, little one! I kind of like Aaron Jacob "AJ" or Daniel Jacob "DJ". Benjamin Logan Ethan Micah Josiah Jeremiah Parker MT3
Just a thought...I personally look for the meanings of names more. My daughter's first and middle names together mean God has graciously given (us) a princess.
I love names with meaning and chose all of ours with a specific purpose. That being said, as I was reading your list of names you're considering already, I read, "Michael Aaron" and stopped there. Sounds perfect to me.
I like nature names. If I ever had my way with a boy's name, it would have been Lake. I also like Lincoln.
Us too. First is how the names sounds, because you are going to say the name, not the meaning each day (and you have to also try it out in 'mommy voice' to make sure it doesn't sound cutesy when they get in trouble and you mean business LOL) but meaning is very important to us. We choose Ephram because of it's meaning to us-I have a medical condition, I was told I wouldn't be able to get pregnant without intervention, which we don't believe in. So his name has a two-fold meaning-1. we were fruitful and multiplied by God's grace, not man's rules and 2. I hope my son's life is fruitful. There are sites where you can search for a name by the meaning...if you and your husband have a vision or feeling about your baby or the circumstances surround the pregnancy or birth or wishes for his future, maybe try one of those sites for some more names.
I like names with a meaning as well. If we have a boy (due in Jan.) we are going to use Daniel Jeremiah. I really like Michael as well. Congrats on your new little one!
On the other thread I suggested maybe because he's so beautiful, call him Beau, even if it's just a nickname... I've always been partial to Johannon (same as John, but more syllables), but never got to use it. We couldn't settle on DS's name when we adopted, so he ended up with two middle names (his daddy's middle name, and daddy's grandfather's name).
Kristopher Jack Dean!!! (Kris, Deana and I have been trying to get a baby on her named after the three of us for MANY years, and no one has done it yet!!!)
