Some of you were interested in hosting my kids precious Cocoa and he is about ready to go. We are in PA and kids named him Cocoa just after we visited Hershey. But I do not remember who all wants him.So who wants him????

    Jimmie Lu,

I bet Chinook would like a visit from Cocoa! He's lonely now that everyone gave him so much attention! :) My kids wouldn't mind having Cocoa visit also. Hope you get a good route set up---it's great fun!

Count us in for now. I'd like to get a cost for shipping estimate......Chinook was around 10 lbs or so half-way through if I remember correctly. Hey, Deena, did you find all of the extra brochures from the various locales helpful or burdonsome? That might be a way of lightening the load for the project as a whole.

Let us know what you are looking for with your project (scrapbook pages, local history, local industry/business, etc.).

Good question! Though it was all fun, there were a LOT of brochures! I think if people narrowed it down to about two or three of the best, some history of the area and pictures of them at the sites (places of interest), that would be great, and not overwhelming. I loved our books and info. though! :D It's so hard to narrow it down though!

Yeah, the whole Chinook thing weighed over 13 pounds, probably more (I forget now!) by the time we got him back.

Oh, and Jimmie Lu, Make sure you map out a route for him and keep a copy of it with the addresses, names and e-mails, so if it is taking extra long at some point, you know where it is and can contact that person and help encourage it on!

I think it would be great if each of the kids draw a picture of Cocoa with there family. Try to take him on at least 1 field trip and send a small trinket and maybe a brochure or 2. I think weight would be an issue for me if I was included to mail it to someone. Older kiddies could write a story or paragraph about his visit and someone asked that a link be started for where Cocoa is. I want to try to get him to Crystal by March 30 so she can take him to Mexico on our mission. and then he will be safely returned to Pa. I am glad Deena you are taking him and I am hoping to see Tina from Tx. here also. And Jackie,KAthe, Brenda and whoever else can. If there are Canadians I will send him there first and he can stay in Cananda until he has to come back to PA. I know going into Canada th PO is a little higher and I do not mind that at all. We will start off with a history of our coal minning town of Minersville. Add a photo or 2 and a drawing and send him so you all can see where he has come from.(how am I doing so far Deena)

Dh just found out that he has an out-of-state job interview in a week and a half......I probably ought not commit to this project :( . I really enjoyed the last one we did, but I couldn't even guarantee that I'd be able to pay shipping right now and if we have the $ that means we have a new job and therefore I won't know our location :? .

I'll check back on this thread often to see if I am able to commit before you are completely mapped out and ready to go.

    Brooke,

Is this a good thing? Are you wanting to move out of state? We'll pray for you! Hope you can do the project!

I could be a huge blessing! We'll see if this is the way that the Lord is leading or not. I meant that I was frowning that I couldn't commit to the project, not the job! :D

I saw my name mentioned! I'm not up to another one at this time. I had asked a friend if she might be. She was thinking about it seriously, but decided against it.

You might put a map of the U.S./Canada in the book, and each family can draw a line from the last place to the current one. I think that might be a nice addition. You might even want each family to keep track of how many miles Coco's traveled.

I'd love to sponser one of these projects in a few years when Phillip's a little older. Perhaps Brutus Buckeye, who is Ohio State's mascot......

I'd really love to participate but we are in the same spot as Brooke as far as relocating. As soon as a job comes through or December 1 whichever comes first we'll be moving. Sorry but good luck.
