The Renaissance Festival will be coming in a few weeks to our area and I thought I would do a study of the Renaissance era for the kids History studies. Any suggestions of what to use??? My kids are in 1st and 3rd grade. They are really excited about going again this year and thought this would be a great way to incorporate this into their studies.

I'd do a lap book or two. (I'd look on Currclick, but that's just because it's my go-to site for lapbooks)

Do you know anything about your family tree? A few weeks ago I was discussing the family tree with the kids, showed them a few printouts I have of some coat of arms...they wanted to make their own...that'd be a great project, studying what all the symbols & colors mean, designing one for your own family as a family...

We've used bits and pieces of this lapbook in our notebooking (studying renaissance artists here) http://www.dynamic2moms.com/renaissance.htm
