My kids are in 6th grade and 4th grade and taking Spanish through a co-op one hour per week. It's not a bad course, but they are learning very little. I want them to learn more and learn it faster.

I was thinking about Rosetta Stone, but it's expensive and I'm wondering if Mango is similar enough? We have access to Mango through our library for free. Have others enjoyed this program and was it effective?

    Thanks!!
    Laura :)

I'm interested in hearing replies. I'm having problems with my Rosetta Stone (too old, won't work on new computer). I have access to Mango on library site, so I'll be interested in hearing what people think of it.

Personally, I think Mango is better than Rosetta Stone. I would give it a try.

I had to go to our library to get the information. If you have a membership, you can use it for free (at our library anyway).

You can try this link, this was the root of mine, but then it had some library info at the end. libraries.mangolanguages.com

This week, when I try to log in they are doing maintenance, so we'll have to try this next week.

My daughter takes a weekly homeschool French class and supplements with Mango through our library. Since you can access it free through your library, go ahead and give it a try! If you don't like it, then you can shell out money for another program. But we are finding that Mango provides a decent foundation.
