There is something in Lesson 34 that doesn't make sense to me. At the top of the page it has cute illustrations of animals....and two letter choices for the beginning sound of each one. So far so good. T for turtle...l for ladybug...b for what I assume is a badger...s for squirrel....h or what looks like a hampster...but the two letter choice next to an owl...m or n? I looked through the rest of the work book this owl never is used again. I showed it to my dh and asked him what is this...his said an owl...Nothing in the lesson plans refer to this. I always thought TE for Kindy books unnecessary. Granted I was tired yesterday but

    N for Night Owl.

    It's either that.....or it's a typo. Just my guess. ;)

I did wonder about that...but it's not what first popped to mind. Kinda like the rorschach tests...look at the blob what comes to your mind?

Was the owl in a nest? Abeka letters and sounds 1 and 2 uses n for nest and m for milk.

I would say it is an error. Just add an "O" to the letters and let your kiddo decide. :)

I'm guessing it was not an error with the letter. It wouldn't be an "O" because the word Owl doesn't make the typical short "O" sound that a child would learn in Kindergarten. I would say Night Owl and use the "N".

I just looked back at out k4 papers and " night owl" was used for N a couple of times. So I would think it is night owl. :)
