Hi All! I'm so new to this, and feeling a bit alone...my Husband and I recently relocated our Family to the Montrose, CO with 3 of our 5 children. We made the decision to homeschool 2 weeks into the school year. I have tried to find homeschooling moms in our area...to no avail. If any of you are in this area, and would be willing to talk with me or meet for coffee, please get in touch? I don't really know anyone around here, and would really like to meet some other Momma's on the same journey! I want to pick your brains and hopefully get our kiddos together for some field trips or hang out time. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Denver Jay!

Thanks for replying to my post! We just moved from Boulder...I'm sure you have a variety of groups to choose from down in the city! Have you been able to meet up with others? I'm getting a wee bit nervous that I'm not going to have much luck around here. Congrats on your decision also! How old are your kiddos? Does your wife teach also, or are you the primary? We have a 1st grader and a 6th grader (for now)...I'm still trying to get a grip on teaching! Thanks again for saying hi!!!

There are a few groups this way and I had the pleasure of meeting up with a group at the zoo. It was very nice to meet folks but I'm still looking for a full-time group to join up with. My kids who are homeschooling are almost 5 and 18 mo, so I am in a pre-school mode with a lot of 'figuring out how this works school mode' as well.

My wife works full time and lends moral support and offers an ear to bend but doesn't really get involved in the actual schooling of the boys. She's wicked supportive and helps with the other household chores, like being the launderer and helping me by planning the week's dinners. That last one is a big one for me, I just can't ever seem to figure out what to cook, so I check the menu and all is well in the world.

As for not finding a group, we are lucky to be joining such a great community in such a great time. We can now set up web-based chats and I'm learning that some homeschoolers are using google+ to work together. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

    Welcome Also!

I am also a new member of Homeschool Spot and can't wait to start posting threads! I have a lot of technical information to give everyone after teaching technology for the past 30 years.
