Okay, my two oldest are back in public school this year.. We had open house on Wednesday and I went and met all their teachers... Ds14 had ONE teacher that annoyed the CRAP outta me! He made a snide comment about homeschooling and how he knew my son was so glad to be out of homeschooling and back into a real classroom.. I just shook my head and walked on.. Annoyed but thinking did he REALLY just say that.. And then my friend, whos daughter was homeschooled until this year, also has that teacher and he told her that he was glad she decided to give up that homeschooling mess and send her back to real school.. GRRRRRR! ANNOYING!
Wow! I know several teachers that are anti-homschooling (and many that are very VERY pro) but this takes it to a whole other level. How rude!
I. am. simply. speechless. I would have had a VERY hard time not giving him "the look" (think eyes, daggers....) and coming back with, "Oh, yes, and we're especially overjoyed that he has YOU."
If this board had a like button I would triple like Lindina's post! :lol: How rude some people can be!
Proof you don't have to be intelligent to be a public school teacher, you can be just as ignorant as anybody else and still influence the minds of America's youth. And that's WHY we homeschool....

Well aren't you just so very lucky to have this guy for your child's real teacher! Whoa! I think I just threw up in my mouth!
There are some really dumb rules in public school. One is that coaches must teach actual classes. Most of them I have known "manage" to "teach" by reading one chapter ahead of the kids. Another dumb rule is "it is not our policy to change a student's class/teacher simply on request."
