Hi there. I'm gonna try to explain this situation and who this prayer is for. We go to a bi-weekly coop. We've gone for the last 5 years. Great group of folks. One of the women who runs it has 3 kids, I've had her son many years in my classes. This year is the first year I do not have him. Apparently, starting over the summer he started getting really dark, and really depressed, and really full of hate. He almost seems possessed! It's so strange. He was always a "handful" and definitely overly obsessed with guns, blood, violence even with things that were certainly innocent. (I should mention he is 10 years old, and friends with my son). Even though he was tough, I truly love him. And it hurts me that he's hurting. His older sister is my oldests' best friend. And she's hurting, too. I have his older brother in one of my classes, and he, too, seems to be hurting. It seems like this situation is effecting their family. They've tried pastoral counseling with the son, psychological testing, psychiatrist. He's recently been put on antidepressants and they're seeming to help some, but not enough. She did say that she's seen improvement - he's reaching out more, letting her touch him. He apparently had been recoiling from his mother even hugging him good night. I could not even imagine, my son hugs me 100 times a day, if that stopped it would KILL me. Please pray for my friend, for her family, for her son. Especially their son. They need a spiritual miracle! Thank you.
It's come to the point where I need to give my daughter some information on this as her good friend is starting to pull away also. I'm trying to find a way to tell her so that she can be more conscious and more supportive to her friend - and more in tune with her emails, and responding to texts and stuff like that. She's a great girl, and I feel bad that this situation is really starting to effect all of them and they feel without hope. Thanks for praying.
I will definately be praying for them!!! 10 seems like such a young age for a child to get depression, but maybe he is going through puberty early, and this is how it's coming?? Forgive me, I don't know about boys (I'll learn in 5-7 years though). Have they gotten him Medically tested?
Please continue to pray. I saw my friend today at co-op. She looks tired, drawn and just plain worn out. Her oldest two kids look about the same. My daughter told me today that she is VERY concerned about her friend and what she's been posting on facebook lately. So it's effecting all of them. I saw their youngest today, and at co-op at least, he seems happy and social. He's in my son's class and he seems to enjoy being there....but must be completely different the minute they leave. They are going away this weekend for a family trip. Please pray that they would be able to have a good time together. Also, please pray for the marriage, this is causing quite a strain and they are really struggling! Thank you!!!!
