Does anyone have their kids do community service, and if so, what type? I am looking to get my boys 12 & 14 involved with community service, but don't know where to start. Thanks.

Check your local library. My 13 year old is on a "Teen Advisory Board" and they do community service and plan things for the library.

We help out at a food bank. My entire family can be involved. I have a 7 year old and a 20 year old that are still at home. Also have a 22 year old who is married. A food pantry can be a good place to volunteer. Smaller kids can help pack up boxes. Older can help in many other ways.

My youngest (13) volunteers at a soup kitchen. She helps prepare and box meals. My oldest helps (15) teach drama classes at the Boys and Girls Club. When they were younger, we did alot of community service through 4H (it's not just for farmer's anymore).

My boys and I volunteer at a local animal shelter. We walk dogs, love on cats, etc. The boys LOVE it, and the shelter does, too.
