So I want to switch away from Saxon. I was all set to switch to MathU See, but then we started looking into Heart of Dakota, and I see they recommend Singapore. I know nothing about this program. What's it like? Is it comparable to Saxon or ??
Maybe I should also add..do either offer cd's to aid in teaching older kids?
    Thanks!

I know nothing about singapore but we are loving MUS this year. The lesson is on dvd and then they do practice work pages. I really really love it and don't plan to switch ever.

Singapore and MathUsee are my two favorite math curriculum. MathUSee is a DVD and then practice sheets. Singapore is just workbooks. If math is not your subject then MathUSee is a better choice. I also think that MathUSee covers more material.

Personally I like Singapore in the elementary grades and then round about fifth or six grade I change to MathUSee.

I love Singapore and most people use it through grade 5 or 6 and then switch to something else. I am using it with my kids and it has given them an excellent foundation. It is mastery based where the same topics cycle back every once in a while in greater depth. Mental math is a big part of the curriculum. It is Asian-based math so it is different from the drill focus that is present in many math programs. It focuses on understanding the why. You would need to purchase the teacher's book to learn how to teach the Singapore way. It has a little bit of a learning curve and does require teacher involvement though. I'm planning on moving to Art of Problem Solving for pre-algebra and higher math. They have online classes when things start to get over my head :)

    math program

My kids used Saxon math in public school and we all hated it. It just wasn't for us. I don't know the math programs that you mentioned, but now we use teaching textbooks and absolutely love it! My boys actually ask to do extra math lessons, which never would have happened before. Plus, there is very little involvement needed on my part, so they can do math independently and I don't have to grade any papers, which is SO nice. I used to spend so much time each evening, grading their homework and helping with corrections when they were in public school. We are very pleased with our math program. :)

Math U See is great if you aren't a "math" person and your chlild struggles! My dd struggles and we did not do well with Saxon or Singapore. I love Math U See! My ds is using BJU pre-algebra with our homeschool co-op. Math U See is very affordable also.
